Buckham Alley Theatre in downtown Flint is pleased to announce The Rocky Horror Picture Show returns as it’s annual fund-raiser. Rocky Horror, which has been drawing thousands of people annually to it’s various viewings across the nation and abroad, is celebrating its 25th year as a classic cult run. Also known as RHPS, it is a movie once regularly seen in the Flint and Lansing areas. Old fans and their now "of age" children have been recently searching for theaters and clubs which will show this unique film. This bawdy, sprawling cult movie classic rock musical is a perfect offering for the curious patron as well as the devotee, and Buckham Alley is the perfect intimate stage, as it seats just 85 per show, and every ticket is a choice seat.
RHPS tells the story of two young fiancées, by the misfortune of a flat tire one stormy night, find themselves at the castle of a mad scientist who is hosting a convention. The charismatic transvestite scientist has presented his muscleman creation, Rocky, to the partygoers. The young couple is shocked and mesmerized by the assembly’s bizarre and grotesque appearance and behavior, but their determination to find a phone keeps them rooted, as this compelling man promises to "help" them. What unfolds is a sexual awakening of the most absurd fun.
Costume contests, prizes, "prop" bags for the audience and a live cast promise an unforgettable evening.
